At SupremeX, we’re entering 2023 after a period marked by growth and expansion. As we look to establish our presence in new markets, we’ve sought to increase our resources to accommodate that.

And to support our vision, we’ve acquired Royal Envelope Corporation (also known as “Royal”), an envelope manufacturing company with two facilities in Chicago.

What does this acquisition mean for SupremeX and the clients of Royal Envelope? Keep reading!

About Royal Envelope Corporation

Royal Envelope, a family-run company, was established in 1978 by Tony Pusatera. After Tony passed on, Royal was handed down to his three sons: John, Matt, and Mike Pusatera who will remain on with the SupremeX team, along with its workforce of 78 employees.

The envelope manufacturing and lithography company is focused on the long term—they don’t cut corners just for short-term gains. Client satisfaction is one of its core values, and that’s reflected in its business model. Royal’s goal is to help clients feel confident that they’re choosing the right company.

Today, the company specializes in providing high-end decorated envelopes for the direct mail market, with expertise in colored envelopes. In 2022, the company generated approximately $38.8 million USD in sales.

Since Royal Envelope was first founded, the company has focused on putting customers first, and at SupremeX, we recognized the synergy between our businesses, along with the alignment of our core values. We’re excited about our future possibilities with this acquisition.

The Acquisition

This acquisition concluded with a total cash consideration of $18.7 million USD, on a cash-free and debt-free basis, and there was an additional $2 million USD paid for recently commissioned manufacturing equipment. This includes envelope-converting equipment and in-house lithographic printing.

We look forward to how the acquisition of Royal Envelope will help take SupremeX to new heights. Specifically, we’re committed to strengthening our operations and expanding our market share in select markets across North America. With this acquisition, we’re able to offer our packaging solutions to a wider range of clients and make our operations even more efficient.
