This role is primarily responsible for supporting day to day operations in production department. Creates and maintains trustworthy relationships with our suppliers and sales team by providing knowledgeable and timely responses to all inquiries. Responsible for purchasing of raw materials, finished goods, and outside work services. Duties also include ensuring records are maintained, ensuring compliance to purchasing standards and optimizing resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with Stock Replenishment planner to maintain stock and validate with planner
- Work in collaboration with production and sales for new product development
- Fulfill Buy-In role by creating and tracking buy-in work order for outside work
- Maintain trustworthy relationship with supplier to optimize resource and track delivery and cost of raw material.
- Communicates and implements all terms of company purchasing policies
- Source material as needed and create Purchase Order for the Operation Group (machine shop, operation, building maintenance, etc.)
- Manages inbound material delivery schedule and follows up with vendors to ensure on time delivery
- Oversees the overall movement of raw materials to and from plant
- Help Production Coordinator with tasks related to cost accounting of work order
- Cross training with Sheetfed Production Planner
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous coordination and/or purchasing experience in printing, packaging, or paper converting manufacturing environment
- Understanding of printing processes would be an asset
- Must have excellent organizational skills for fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with internal staff
- Good business communication skills; both oral & written
- Ability to handle difficult customers/suppliers with diplomacy and tact
- Intermediate computer skills required in MSOffice is required, previous experience with Microsoft AX Dynamic would be an asset
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, follow-up, and meet tight timelines
- Effective time management skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Customer service focused
- Proven creative problem- solving abilities
- Accuracy with managing data and attention to detail
- Able to perform business math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.)
- Self motivated, enthusiastic, high energy, team player focused on the goals of the organization
- Professional appearance
- Bilingual (for communications with divisions outside Quebec)
