The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe handling of products. This role provides hands-on leadership to warehouse staff, coordinating activities such as receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials. The Warehouse Supervisor owns shipping and receiving performance end-to-end as a service function to the business. Ensure every shippable order ships, customs paperwork is correct, freight spend is controlled, and service levels are met daily.
Working hours from 6h00 to 14h00.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Execution
- Own daily shipment execution.
- Clear the backorder queue daily.
- Act as primary point of contact for Sales & Customer Service.
- Ensure response to inquiries within SLA.
- Own daily shipping prioritization based on committed ship dates and Sales/CS service rules.
Systems & Process
- Full ownership of AX transactions for shipping, receiving and inventory control
- Ensure paperwork accuracy.
- Maintain clean shipping queue and shipment status visibility.
Customs & Freight
- Own customs compliance and documentation.
- Source freight from approved vendors only.
- Own freight spend, lane discipline, and cost control.
People Leadership
- Directly manage day and afternoon shift team.
- Set daily priorities and service commitments.
- Coach, performance manage, and build bench strength.
- Ensure cross-training and coverage plans are real, not theoretical.
Hands-on Execution
- Qualified on mobile equipment.
- Expected to support floor execution when required.
Success Measures
- On-time shipment rate
- Backorder queue cleared daily
- Zero unauthorized freight vendors
- SLA response times met
- No “black hole” complaints from Sales/CS
- Zero escalation required for routine shipping decisions
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a fast-paced production and distribution environment, in similar position preferred
- Basic, working knowledge of printing and/or converting required
- Effective listening, business communication, negotiation, and phone skills
- Fully bilingual English/French (For communication with divisions outside Quebec)
- System-capable
- Strong working knowledge of customs documentation
- Freight sourcing discipline
- People leadership experience
- Comfortable being accountable and visible
